Fun for the family

Whilst Arana de Mijas itself provides an oasis of tranquillity, holiday makers and residents alike will enjoy indulging themselves at a wide range of fun facilities available in the nearby resort areas.

Mijas water park is one of the best water fun parks around, located on the outskirts of Fuengirola, offering a wave pool, kamikaze slide, water chutes, adventure river with winding raft slides and a mini aqua park for the kids.

Tivoli World, the Costa del Sol's biggest amusement park, is located just a few kilometres away at Arroyo de la Miel. There are over two dozen thrilling rides to choose from plus a tiny tots section, restaurants, bars and a programme of concerts by well-known Spanish performers as well as some 'look alike' stars.

Further down the coast at Estepona, Selwo offers a fascinating adventure with nature. The park covers 100 hectares and is home to more than 2,000 animals from the five continents. The animals live in freedom in a reconstruction of their natural habitat. Visitors are taken on a four-hour tour, on foot and in four-wheel drive trucks.

In Fuengirola, Europe's only Crocodile park has 300 crocodiles, from babies right up to the huge five-metre long adults weighing in at almost 500kg. The park has now opened a mini zoo especially for children with deer and miniature ponies.

Fuengirola's visitor and animal-friendly zoo is an exception to the usual format. Here a wide range of species from around the world are maintained in a small and friendly natural habitat.
